- Rhode Island is blessed with freshwater lakes including Worden Pond, our largest.
- Ninigret is the largest of our saltwater ponds. Saltwater ponds are formed and continuously reformed by the combination of coastal processes such as erosion, sediment transport, and changes in the sea level. The ponds are a great place to fish. They are filled with shellfish and flounder.
- We Rhode Islanders have had some boundary disputes with the colonies of Connecticut and Plymouth. However, they were eventually resolved to everyone's satisfaction in the 18th century.
